Our Story
Habu Nabu There Was, There Wasn’t…
It started with a grape and a goat… On a grassy mountainside and without much notice, a grazing goats sturdy hoof landed on a tender ripe grape spilling its juices onto the rich clay soil of the fertile crescent. It was a place and time where cats, cows, goatsand sheep were being domesticated. In contrast the grape was going wild. In Zoroastrian tradition, and with a little help from its domesticated friend, a grape turned its own juices into wine gaining equal status with other deities like plants, wind, and fire. Haömá! the vine came to life and the tradition of wine making and wine drinking flourished throughout the land. Habu Nabu: in a land both mythical and real, a place we all know today as Kurdistan!
